2018 Chardonnay Wins Double Gold at 2019 New York Wine Classic

Our estate-grown, 2018 Chardonnay won Double Gold or "Best of Class" at this year's New York Wine Classic for "Best Unoaked Chardonnay". This is one of the most prestigious awards a wine can win at this annual event, and is one of the highest honors that Toro Run has had since we began submitting.

We had six other wines take home Bronze medals in other categories, rounding out a total of seven awards at this year's awards. Our winners are:

  • 2017 Cabernet Franc

  • Sparkling Brut

  • Chardonnay Reserve

  • Gruner Veltliner

  • Dry Riesling

  • Late Harvest Riesling

The New York Wine Classic took place on August 5th – 7th in Watkins Glen, NY and included 883 entries from 113 wineries from across the state. From the press release:

“The New York Wine Classic is one of our largest annual events honoring the best of New York Wines.  We are thrilled with the turnout this year.  The Classic and our annual NY Drinks NY events continue to help New York shine as a truly exciting and innovative wine region,” said Sam Filler, Executive Director, New York Wine & Grape Foundation.

Congratulations to all of the winners at this year's event, and you can read more here on the New York Wine & Grape website.
